Understanding the Process

What Is Therapy?

Therapy is a structured, collaborative process, a confidential space to explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences with someone trained to guide and assist you in making sense of them. It isn't about being told what to do, judged, or fixed. Together, we'll notice the patterns that may be keeping you stuck and find new ways forward that align with what matters most to you. You don't need to have it all figured out before you begin.

You don't need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy.

Perhaps you've been carrying stress for too long. Maybe you're feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of your next step. Therapy offers a space to make sense of what you're experiencing and discover a way forward that feels authentic to you.

About Angad

Meet Angad

Angad Singh, counsellor at The Untangled Mind

I'm Angad, schooled, raised, and rooted right here in Singapore. I hold a Master of Counselling from Monash University, after spending over 16 years working as an educator.

Those years in the classroom taught me how to take complex, overwhelming ideas and break them down into clear, manageable pieces, a skill I bring directly into the therapy room. My approach is collaborative and person-centred, grounded in practical, evidence-based methods including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. My role isn't to tell you how to live your life, but to help you move forwards at your pace.

Outside counselling, I enjoy motorcycle adventures, hiking and travelling—particularly the opportunity to explore unfamiliar places and experience life from a different perspective.

I don't believe therapy should feel intimidating or full of jargon. My role is to help you make sense of what's happening, discover what matters most to you, and build a life that's aligned with your values.

If you're considering therapy, I'd be honoured to be part of your journey.

Good to Know

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

If you've been feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply want space to think things through, therapy can help. You don't need to be in crisis to benefit.

What happens in the first session?

We'll start by going over the limits of confidentiality, so you know exactly what's protected and what isn't before you share anything. From there, most of the session is spent exploring what's brought you to therapy, why now feels like the right time, and what you'd like to achieve from working together. There's no pressure to have it all figured out. The first session is simply about building a clearer picture together.

Do you work with couples, or only individuals?

I work with individual adults as well as couples. I don't currently see families or children.

Do you accept insurance or Medisave?

No, sessions are private-pay only and aren't currently claimable through insurance or Medisave.

How long is a session?

Sessions typically run for 50 minutes.

How often should I come?

Most clients begin with weekly sessions, moving to fortnightly or monthly as things progress. We'll figure out a rhythm that suits you.

How many sessions will I need?

There's no defined number. It's different for everyone. A good gauge is that many people start noticing meaningful shifts within their first 4 to 6 sessions, while more longstanding or complex concerns often benefit from longer-term work. We'll check in on your progress and goals along the way, and you're always in control of how long you continue.

Is therapy confidential?

Yes. What you share stays between us, within the legal and ethical limits of confidentiality.

How much does it cost?

Individual sessions are SGD $119, and couples sessions are SGD $169. Packages and promotional rates are available and can be discussed during your free 15-minute consult. Payment is via PayNow for clients in Singapore, or bank transfer to our Wise account for clients overseas.

Do you work with people outside Singapore?

Yes. I'm based in Singapore, but sessions are conducted online and available to clients worldwide, so location is rarely a barrier. Payment is via PayNow for clients in Singapore, or Wise for clients overseas, both in Singapore Dollars (SGD).

What happens if there's a connection or internet outage during our session?

If we lose connection, I'll message you to reconnect and we'll pick back up as soon as possible. If a session is significantly cut short because of a technical issue on my end, we'll arrange a makeup session.

What if I can't make it to a session?

Life happens. If you need to cancel or reschedule, just let me know at least 48 hours in advance and we'll find a new time. Late cancellations or no-shows may be charged in full, as that time has been reserved for you. Where a refund is due, it will be processed at the end of the month.

How does booking and payment work?

Your booking is only confirmed once payment has been made. Payment details are provided at the time of booking, and your session will be automatically cancelled if payment isn't received at least 48 hours before your scheduled session.

What if we aren't the right fit?

That's completely okay. The free consultation exists precisely so we can find out together, with no obligation either way.
